Honeybuns Cloth Diaper Review

One thing I love is a good DIY. It shows how "handy" (get it 😂) a person is if you can do-it-yourself. I haven't started down the road of attempting to create cloth diapers, but I know of a company that does: Honeybuns Cloth Diapers (HBCD)!

This company makes cloth diapers in their family home in Texas.

Earlier in the year, I purchased homemade diapers for about $20, for a whole stash. That price was unbelievable. You want to know why? The diapers were crap. Let's see if Honeybuns can restore my faith in homemade cloth diapers.

The HBCD website has many different designs to choose from: succulents, gold velvet, peanut butter cup, and even Harry Potter diapers!

The selection itself is amazing. I chose the Mermaid Seahorse design. A bonus: the mermaid is black! So far so good.

I also received two inserts. They are made out of hemp and cotton.

The inside of the diaper is really soft and comfortable. Rylan seemed to like it as well. She is usually fussy when putting a diaper on. Not this time. She was relaxed and even smiling! Maybe she like the new feel?

We put the diaper on at 7:00PM. Rylan breastfeeds basically all day (I'm her Paci) so I change her diaper frequently: every 2-2 1/2 hours. The diaper had one less "around the leg" button than I'm used to, but after fastening it all the way, that middle button wasn't missed. It fit on Rylan pretty snug. Just how we like it.

She fell asleep moments after putting on the clean, fresh, previously prepped, diaper.

When she woke up about 30 minutes later, The diaper was still intact. Around 9:40PM, I felt a little wetness around Ry's leg. This could be due to the fact that I should have changed her diaper sooner, as I usually do. She felt really dry so I waited later.

I washed the diaper and let it sick on the drying rack. In the morning, the diaper wasn't completely dry yet. Coming home later and after work, the diaper and

inserts were dry and good as new!

So what about price? A BumGenius Newborn cloth diaper runs $14.95 in a solid color. For a few extra bucks, you can get a ready to ship, made to order, or limited edition, or rare edition cloth diaper. They also sell basic buns, in solid color for about the same price as a  BumGenius diaper. The difference? These are lovingly homemade! Those are actual categories on their site!

So how do I feel about Honeybuns after trying it out?

Here's my overall ratings:

Comfort (touch): A+
Functionality: A
Dry time: B+
Insert soak power: A
Diaper durability: A+

Price of Diapers: A

All in all, I am very impressed and ready to order all of the funny, cute, and adorable styles on their site!
I am sure that Rylan approves !!!!
